CHICOPEE Mass. (WWLP) – Not many film franchises can maintain interest and quality by the fifth entry. Audiences and critics alike seem to be ready for more impossible missions however, as Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is receiving some of the best reviews of the year and had an opening day gross of $20 million.

Many of the cast members from previous entries are returning for Rogue. Simon Pegg is back for comedic relief and Avengers and Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner also returns. But the real star of the movie is of course Tom Cruise.

Tom’s star power may be diminished in recent years due to some off screen antics, but he still carries weight in the Mission series. Paramount has been highlighting the fact that Cruise has done most of his own stunts in the movie, including a scene on the outside of an airplane as it is taking off.

Rogue may not reach the heights of Jurassic World, Avengers, or Furious 7, but it should continue the record setting pace Hollywood has set for 2015. Rogue will enjoy an easy number one finish this weekend as no other film will come close. The impossible mission comes next week when Rogue tries to retain its audience against the opening of The Fantastic Four.
