SPRINGFIELD Mass. (WWLP) – Another rally was held in Springfield tonight to stop the violence.

Residents came out Saturday night for a community outreach and to open the lines of communication about some of the biggest issues they see in the city. Many residents who attended told 22News, they want to see less violence in their communities.

Roberto Sierra told 22News, “To give a positive message to all of our community telling them that there’s a solution other than drugs and violence.”

William Cordero said, “We’re looking for proactive measures to minimize the violence, come up with resources to be able to help out the community and give a second chance to those that have no other alternatives and that’s what provokes violence.”
