Springfield Police arrest repeat drug dealer

Barbot had previously been arrested in February

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Narcotics detectives have arrested Jose Barbot, a man they’ve described as a notorious drug dealer.

Springfield Police spokesman Sgt. John Delaney said they found over 15,000 dollars in cash, 580 pills, plus 60 grams of crushed pills when Narcotics officers arrested Barbot over the weekend.

Sgt. Delaney said they arrested Barbot, and alleged customers that police observed him distributing to. Barbot has been charged with three counts of drug trafficking and distribution.

Delaney described Barbot as a “frequent flyer” in the world of drug dealing in western Massachusetts. Barbot had previously been arrested in February for drug trafficking, after a car chase led police into Chicopee.
