(KSEE) A Clovis, California woman was arrested for vehicle and identity theft after officers say she essentially drove herself to jail.
“She was coming to the jail to visit her boyfriend,” said Tony Botti, public information officer with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened Tuesday morning. Botti says officers with the Help Eliminate Auto Theft Task Force (HEAT) spotted a BMW that a rental agency had reported stolen. They arrested 41-year-old Cynthia Abate on more than just vehicle theft.
“We caught her with a bunch of stolen credit cards. Some of those cards she even made at home,” Botti said.
