Road shut down following Amherst gas leak

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Berkshire Gas company crews had to be called in and a street was closed following a gas leak in Amherst Wednesday morning.

Chris Farrell of Berkshire Gas told 22News that a contractor hit a 5/8 inch plastic service line to a single family house on Grantwood Drive at around 9:30. Berkshire Gas crews arrived minutes later, and the line was squeezed-off by 9:55. They are still finishing repairs.
