Chicopee Police Chief sues city, former Mayor

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee’s Police Chief is suing the city and its former mayor. 22News obtained a copy of the lawsuit his attorney Thomas Kenefick told 22News he filed in Hampden Superior Court on Wednesday.

In the lawsuit, Chief William Jebb accuses former Mayor Michael Bissonnette of defamation of character, and intentionally inflicting emotional distress. Jebb is demanding an undetermined amount of money.

Jebb was only named chief after Mayor Richard Kos took office. Both Kos and Bissonnette are planning to run in this year’s election.
