GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Neighbors in Franklin County had quite a mess to clean up this week after the severe weather, which included a microburst.
The heavy rain and strong winds that come with summertime severe weather can wreak havoc on your yard. If good-sized trees on your property are damaged and knocked down, you can expect to pay a couple thousand dollars or more to have them cleared.
Many homeowner’s insurance policies only cover about $500.
Joe Alexopoulos from Tree413 in East Longmeadow told 22News there are certain signs you should look for on your property to protect yourself and save money later. “They should look for bark falling off the tree, cavities in the tree, mushrooms possibly growing out of trees. Dead branches. If they have no leaves on the trees.”
While it may be tempting to look for the cheapest tree removal services, it’s important to make sure you hire an insured business with the right equipment and qualified laborers, so you’re not liable later on.
