Hall of Justice, courts evacuated after bomb threat

Police received two phone calls with threats

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The start of court operations at the Hall of Justice in Springfield was delayed for two hours Thursday morning, due to a bomb threat.

Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner told 22News that shortly after 8 o’clock Thursday morning, Springfield Police received two phone calls regarding a threat.

In addition to the Hall of Justice, the Juvenile and Housing Courts were also evacuated, while the building was swept by bomb experts.

Leger said the all clear was given about 10:15 a.m. for people to return.
