Two arrested in Springfield on drug charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men from Springfield are facing several drug and weapons charges will be arraigned in Springfield District Court Wednesday.

Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News Jose M. Nunez, 26 and David Reyes, 24 were arrested after police got a tip of a disturbance on Wayne Street in Springfield. Neighbors called 9-1-1 around 7:30pm Tuesday for a disturbance at 35 Wayne Street. They said two men in a car were circling around the block after the disturbance. When officers tried to pull the driver over, the men got out of the car and started to run away.

Both suspects were later caught and arrested. Police say they found marijuana, PCP, and heroin in their possession.

Charges include possession Of Heroin With Intent, possession of Marijuana With Intent, Possession of PCP With Intent, Carrying a Firearm Without a Permit and Resisting Arrest. 

Both suspects will be arraigned today in Springfield District Court.
