CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Many residents who tried to switch electric suppliers this past winter, were slapped with recalculation fees. Now, you might be getting that money back.

State lawmakers approved the 2016 budget. It includes reimbursing residents who were charged when they switched suppliers.

State Senator Don Humason told 22News the reimbursement would only apply to those who switched between November 2014 and April 2015.

Governor Charlie Baker still has to approve the measure, and the rest of the budget. He has ten days to make a decision.
