SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Baystate Health purchased Noble Hospital, a transition that became official Thursday.
It’ll now be known as Baystate Noble Hospital, but patients probably won’t see any major changes right away.
How will this affect you? A Baystate Health representative told 22News that operations are expected to continue as usual, for now, including insurance plans, services offered, and employees who work there. However, patients will eventually see a few changes.
“Longer term our plan for Noble is to start scaling up the availability of specialty services available in the Westfield community, just as we have done with Baystate Franklin and Greenfield,” said Ben Craft of Baystate Health.
22News has been told it’s too early to specify which services will be available. However, to give you an example, when Baystate bought what’s now Baystate Franklin Hospital, Baystate Health sent surgeons and specialists to Greenfield that patients didn’t have access to before.
If it wasn’t for this change, Noble Hospital might not have been around for too much longer.
