12 employees placed on leave following NY prison escape

9 of them are members of the security staff

ALBANY, NY (NEWS 10) – The Department of Corrections has placed three members of the Clinton Correctional Facility’s Executive team on administrative leave.

Superintendent Steven Racette and Deputy Superintendent Stephen Brown are the two highest ranking members. Nine members of the security staff have also been placed on leave. The move is a result of the investigation into the escape of two inmates on June 6.

Assistant Commissioner for Correctional Facilities James O’Gorman will oversee the Clinton Correctional Facility as the new leadership team transitions this week. The investigation is ongoing.
