NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Residents are reacting to Northampton’s marijuana dispensary, which is expected to open in less than 3 months.

People on Conz Street are welcoming the facility, which will be called “New England Treatment Access.” 22News stopped by the senior center to see how older residents would feel about a drug facility in their backyard. “It doesn’t bother me at all because inevitably it has to be somewhere,” said, Debra Horton of Northampton.

Lorraine Joquin of Northampton told 22News, “It’s good, it’s good for the pain for people who have cancer, crohn’s disease it will help them eat.”

Medical Marijuana was legalized in Massachusetts back in 2012 after a statewide ballot initiative. The Conz Street facility will be the county’s ONLY medical marijuana dispensary.
