CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) — Here’s the dope on that hilariously delightful coming of age satire that just happens to be called “Dope”.

But there’s nothing dopey about the amusing escapades of a kid from the ghetto named Malcolm, who dreams of going to Harvard.

In his neighborhood filled with drug dealers and gang bangers, Malcolm fancies himself a Geek.

“Dope” is such an original, one of a kind comedy, the film turns all the ghetto racial stereotypes upside down.

How does Malcolm convince his straight laced high School Principal, that Malcom’s Hip Hop heroes from the ‘90s are worthy of serious discussion?

Delightful newcomer Shameik Moore delicately maneuvers through his crime infested neighborhood. Malcom’s road to Harvard takes some ingenious twists and turns. As long as Malcolm and his fellow Geeks use their high school science lab to process the drugs they’ll sell online.

Shameik Moore and his breakthrough comedy will climb the ladder of public approval very quickly, through a combination of wit, good acting and clever storytelling. “Dope” is nobodies fool with a grade point average of 3 stars.

This comedy that seemed to come out of nowhere without the usual hype, stands on its own. Appreciative audiences will see to it, the film with be with us for quite some time.
