Cady Lalanne is UMass’ first NBA draft pick in 8 years

SAN ANTONIO, TX (WWLP) – UMass Amherst saw its first NBA draft selection in 8 years.

Cady Lalanne, the Minutemen’s 6’9″ center was taken in the 2nd round, 55th overall by the San Antonio Spurs.

Lalanne was a third-team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season, leading the Minutemen in scoring, blocked shots and field goal percentage.

He’s the first UMass player to be drafted by the NBA since 2007.
