The new “Noah’s Ark” rises in Kentucky

Organizers expect millions of people to visit per year

(WLWT) – A huge piece of the massive ark being built in Williamstown, Kentucky, was lifted into place Thursday. The attraction is being built by the same group that opened the Creation Museum.

“There are still more piers to put in a V-shape, and more of that pre-cast concrete…so you start to get the idea of how big this structure is,” Answers in Genesis CEO Ken Ham said.

Organizers expect as many as two million people per year will visit the Christian tourist attractions beginning next summer.

Ham called the Noah’s Ark Encounter attraction a life-sized recreation. At 510 feet long, he believes it will be the largest timber-framed structure in the world.
