Springfield’s CityBlock Concert Series 2015 Performances Lineup

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Every Thursday this summer, starting July 2nd, national touring musicians will be playing in Stearns Square for the CityBlock Concert Series.

Musicians vary from blues to classic rock, zydeco, and some 80s glam. Below is a list of who you can expect to be playing during the summer concerts:

July 30th: Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers

  • Genre: Zydeco
  • Son of Rockin’ Dopsie Sr., a well known accordion player in Europe and the U.S.

 

August 6th: Denny Laine of Wings and The Swinging Steaks

  • Genre: Blues Rock, Rock, Jazz
  • Member of Wings, worked with Paul McCartney
  • The Swinging Steaks will join with Laine to perform “Band on the Run” along with other Wings’ songs

August 13th: Marcia Ball

  • Genre: Rhythm and Blues, Jazz
  • Her CD, Presumed Innocent, took home the 2002 Blues Music Award for Blues Album Of The Year

 

 

August 20th: Dana Fuchs Band

  • Genre: Classic Rock, Blues Rock
  • Famous for her performance in the 2007 film “Across the Universe” as the role of Sadie

August 27th: FAT (Held at Court Square across from City Hall and MassMutual Center)

  • Genre: Rock
  • After disbanding in 1985, FAT re-formed in the mid 90s to do reunion concerts
