Jimmy Fallon hurts hand; ‘Tonight Show’ taping canceled

NEW YORK (WOOD) — Friday’s taping of “The Tonight Show Featuring Jimmy Fallon” has been canceled after Fallon sustained an injury to his hand, according to the show’s Twitter account.

A tweet posted around 12:30 p.m. Friday said, “Hey guys – unfortunately tonight’s taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He’s totally fine but we’ll be airing a repeat.”

Entertainment website TMZ is reporting the injury landed Fallon in the hospital and that he had to have surgery. The website also said the injury happened early Friday morning at Fallon’s apartment after a night out at a restaurant on New York’s Upper East Side.

The “Tonight Show” airs Monday through Friday at 11:35 p.m. on WWLP-22News.
