Former Northampton man pleads guilty to failing to register as a sex offender

Sentencing is scheduled for September 24th

BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A former Northampton man faces up to ten years in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender.

63 year old Wade Branch pleaded guilty Friday to one count in U.S. District Court in Springfield.

Branch was convicted of rape and indecent assault in Hampden County Superior Court 15 years ago. He moved to California in 2008 and never registered as a sex offender, as required.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 24th.
