(KING) – A string of bumble bee deaths in Seattle has one woman taking an unorthodox approach to saving them.
Alexandrea Pilloud walks the same route in Madison Park a few times a week. Lately, she’s been stopping a lot, discovering several dying bumble bees each day.
“They’re supposed to be getting nectar and flying,” she said, holding one. “This guy isn’t doing any of the sort. He’s just walking around.”
Pilloud didn’t know it, but there’s a real buzz around the topic of dying bees.
