Boys brave flames to rescue babies

Isiah Francis and Jeremiah Grimes could barely see anything when they went inside

(WESH) – Two boys are being hailed as heroes after rescuing their neighbors from a burning mobile home in Orange County, Florida.

Fire officials said Isiah Francis, 10, and Jeremiah Grimes, 11, called 911, rushed in to the home and rescued two of the children.

“We looked out the window and saw flames coming out of the house,” Grimes said. “It was really hot. It felt like 150 degrees in there. I’m just thinking, ‘Stay calm, and keep your mind straight, stay focused on what you’re doing.'”

The child heroes said when they went inside the home, they could barely see anything.

“I was freaking out trying to get the babies out before they got hurt or something happened,” Francis said. “I found my way outside and I took the two kids to my house.”
