SOD: Giving up more towns to ISIS is not working

(NBC News) – Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter delivered bad news to Congress Wednesday, the U.S. plans to stop Iraqi forces from running away, and giving up more towns to ISIS is not working.

Iraqi soldiers are not showing up to get arms and instruction. “Of the 24,000 Iraqi security forces we had originally envisioned training at our four sites by this fall, we only received enough recruits to be able to train about 7,000,” Carter testified.
