CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee announced Tuesday they are adding free Wi-Fi for the public in the downtown area.
It’s part of a project to increase foot traffic and spur development in the downtown area.
The free Wi-Fi is not costing the city anything; it’s part of a partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Information Technology.
The city also added a solar power bench called the “soofa” next to City Hall, where visitors can charge their mobile devices. Behind Boston, Chicopee is only the second city to offer a “soofa” in Massachusetts.
