Will gas prices affect summer vacations?

Gas is going for an average price of $2.75 per gallon in Massachusetts.

CHICOPEE Mass. (WWLP) – With summer officially starting in June 21, people are planning their summer vacations.

Many people told 22News, they’re already planning their summer getaways, but some are worried about rising gas prices.

Gas is going for an average price of $2.75 per gallon in Massachusetts. That’s 10 cents more than last month.

But gas prices here are still lower than the national average.

One Enfield resident told 22News, she’s planning to travel, but she’s not planning long trips. Keely Danis said, “It will definitely have an impact. We’ll be keeping the trips a little more local and not venturing too far.”

The “Gas Buddy” website predicts gas prices should be pretty stable at about $2.77 for the months of July and August.

But those are just predictions and there are many factors that determine the price of gas.
