HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Hartford police say a big concert and other events in the city Friday evening are expected to cause major traffic problems.

About 23,000 people are expected to descend on Hartford during the afternoon rush hour for an evening concert by the Dave Matthews Band at the XFinity Theater.

There are also theater productions at the Bushnell and Hartford Stage and an illusionist performing at Xfinity Hall. Those shows are expected to bring several thousand more people into the city.

Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley says the department is preparing for major congestion beginning at about 4 p.m. and is asking commuters to plan accordingly.
