CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of western Massachusetts families took advantage of Home Depot’s Safety Day in Chicopee today.
They came to take part in kid’s workshops and hear from police and firefighters, to best to keep them safe in all types of situations. For many families from Chicopee and nearby communities, attending has become a tradition.
Matthew Nay of Chicopee told 22News, “We come here every year. This year we heard about it last minute. We enjoy coming, bringing the kids. They get to see the trucks to make something, get to talk about some safety.”
This was Chicopee Home Depot’s fourth year of its Safety Day.
Participants included the western Massachusetts Red Cross chapter, as well as personnel from Westover Air Reserve Base.
