Old Guard posts Arlington flags

(NBC News) A solemn annual ceremony marks the observance of Memorial Day weekend at Arlington National Cemetery.

For the 60th year, soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as the “Old Guard”, have placed American flags at the 228,000 gravesites for service members buried at Arlington.

“Everytime you read a tombstone you think of a family that doesn’t have a dad now, or a sister that doesn’t have a brother now, or you think of the wife that’s a widow now,” said one soldier as he placed flags.
