(WPTZ) A Vermont man is accused of holding his wife captive in their Rutland home for years.
34-year-old Michael Jokinen is accused of holding his 23-year-old wife captive in a padlocked bedroom
She claimed the windows were boarded shut, and she was only let out when her husband got home from work.
“I did go into the house, and I did see and collect evidence that was relevant to statements that were made by the victim,” Rutland Police Detective David LaChance said.
Jokinen allegedly only allowed his wife to shower once a week and forced her to use a bucket for a toilet.
