“Survivor Journeys” provides support for cancer survivors

Organization brings together cancer survivors, healthcare providers and caregivers

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A paint party with a purpose in Springfield Thursday night. Springfield-based physician and cancer survivor Dr. Jay Burton founded “Survivor Journeys.”

Cancer survivors were painting beach-scapes at Samuel’s Sports Bar Thursday night.

They were raising money for the organization that provides social and emotional support for cancer patients.

Agawam’s Tony Lucia’s been in remission four and a half years. Lucia told 22News, “I had a lymphoma. And then, nine months later I had an issue with my brain. A tumor. And both have been, so far, so good. I’m blessed.”

“Survivor Journeys” is free and open to anyone.

The organization brings together cancer survivors, healthcare providers and caregivers.
