SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police said they’ve arrested two high level heroin dealers who are also husband and wife. Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney said narcotics detectives raided a house at 90 Athol Street Thursday morning.
They seized $22,875 in cash, 200 bags of heroin and almost three-quarters of an ounce of cocaine.
Police arrested Benjamin and Jasmine Rodriguez, both 23 years old.
Sgt. Delaney said, “This was yet another significant arrest in the war on Heroin in Springfield. Police Commissioner John Barbieri praised the hard work and determination of the detectives in the Narcotics Division.”
Benjamin and Jasmine Rodriguez are charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and trafficking in crack cocaine. They’re being held overnight for arraignment Friday in Springfield District Court.
Arresting officers said there were children in the house when police conducted the raid.
