SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Rotary Club of Springfield celebrated 100 long years Wednesday night.
The Club marked the historic anniversary with by awarding ten $1,000 grants to Springfield charitable organizations.
Club President Rick Lee, told 22News they wanted to embody their mission of “Service above self”.
Lee said, “We should continue the legacy by giving money to charity, by giving scholarship funds to young people, and recognizing some of the people in our community who make this community great.”
Sheriff Michael Ashe and Rotarian Sujin Yang were presented with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. It is the highest award given to honor local Rotary members.
