Raccoon causes major power outage in Berkshire County

ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – A raccoon in a substation is being blamed for a large power outage in Northwestern Berkshire County.

National Grid spokesperson Danielle Williamson told 22News the outage happened around 5:30am Tuesday in the Adams substation.

Just over 18,000 customers were affected by the outage. Willamson said all power should be restored by 7:30am.
