LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s been 36 years since the town of Longmeadow started celebrating its history with Long Meddowe days.
It’s been a big weekend on the town common, complete with graveyard tours, civil war re-enactors, and at one point, a man in a stove top hat who looked like Abraham Lincoln.
But it wasn’t just connecting with history that attracted people to the town common.
Edgar Fauteux of Longmeadow said, “Favorite thing’s to get some food, we’ll walk around, see all the local arts and meet all the local townsfolk.”
The Longmeadow Historical society helps organize Long Meddowe Days. The two day celebration in mid-May has been a fixture since Longmeadow observed its 200 anniversary in the 1980s.
