WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The tents are pitched in Wilbraham for an all-night Relay for Life.
Teams of supporters and volunteers are spending the night at Minnechaug Regional High School. At least 23 teams and nearly 200 people are showing their commitment to the cause of beating cancer.
One cancer survivor told 22News what this means to her. “I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. At the time I was pregnant and I had to make a choice and my choice was life. I wanted my daughter, so I chose to continue with my pregnancy. I had my daughter and right after I had surgery and March 16th or 18th, I’ve been cancer free for 21 years,” said Theresa Dion of Wilbraham.
So far, the Wilbraham Relay for Life has raised more than $20,000 to support the work of the American Cancer Society.
