CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The school year is winding down and in less than six weeks children will be on summer break.
For working parents, it’s sometimes hard in the summer to find activities to keep their children safe and occupied while they’re not in school. Traditionally crime goes up in the summer which is why there are so many programs aimed at keeping kids off the streets and busy with activities.
This week on 22News InFocus we discussed some of the many programs available for youth during the summer months. And they’re not just arts and crafts, swimming and basketball. We heard about programs to not only keep kids occupied, but also help them further their education, build their resumes, explore a career or just engage in activities that interest them.
If you’re looking for ideas to keep your kids safe and busy during the summer break, watch 22News InFocus.
Below are links to the programs offered by the organizations that appear on this week’s program. Please check with your town or city’s Parks and Recreation and school departments, local churches and other youth organizations in your community for programs.
