CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Most of us have seen it on our cars or have been directly affected by it. That’s right, it’s pollen!

Another dry and sunny day on this Thursday resulted in another day of the pollen count remaining very high.

Pollen continues to be an issue here in western Massachusetts, and just some rain could help lower the pollen levels.

In fact, there hasn’t been much of any rain at all in a couple weeks, resulting in not only dry conditions but also highs levels of tree pollen. Some of those high levels of tree pollen are, Maple, Birch, and Juniper. And you can tell just how high the pollen levels are by looking at your car.

Tony Martins, of Chicopee, told 22News, “I wash the car almost every other day, car’s all yellow and full of garbage. I’ve noticed that and on the cars the most, especially this one, it picks up a lot. But I don’t mind, it’s still better than snow and all that.”

While tree pollen remains high, grass pollen is also starting to go up. So if you’re an allergy sufferer chances are you’ll continue sniffling and sneezing.

We could really use some rain to wash the pollen out of the air, and of course, get that free car wash we all deserve!
