(NBC News) Splintered wood, twisted metal and broken glass litters the small town of Van, Texas following a deadly Sunday night tornado.
At least two people were killed in Van, and more than 40 others injured. Several are still unaccounted for.
Roughly a third of the town was damaged. Trees and power lines snapped, homes and businesses were completely wiped away.
“This is something that you only see in movies,” says Van resident Alex Lopez. “Seeing where these homes stood and they’re not there anymore.”
