Directions to the air show at Westover

The air show takes place on May 16th & 17th

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – People from all across Massachusetts, and other states, are coming to Chicopee to enjoy the Great New England Air Show at the Westover Air Reserve Base.

Here is a look how to get to the base from Connecticut, New York, Boston, and Western Mass.:

Directions to Westover ARB from Connecticut

  • Take Interstate-91 North to Interstate-291 in Springfield
  • Take the Fuller Road exit, which is also marked Westover ARB
  • Follow the Westover signs to the base

GPS: 2255 Westover Road, Chicopee, MA

Directions to Westover ARB from New York

  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East to Exit 5
  • Follow the Westover signs to the base

Directions to Westover ARB from the Boston area

  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West to Exit 7 in Ludlow
  • Take right onto Center Street (Rt.21)
  • Left onto Rood Street, which turns into Fuller Street
  • Right onto West Street
  • Left onto New Ludlow Road
  • Left onto South Street, just before the Summit Convenience Store

GPS: 102 New Ludlow Road, Granby, MA

Directions to Westover ARB from Western Massachusetts

  • Use the James Street gate since the main gate on Westover Road is typically the most used
  • Avoid the section of Memorial Drive (Route 33) between Interstate-90 and Westover Road
  • From the traffic rotary at the intersection of Memorial Drive and James Street, turn east at the Knights of Columbus toward the base

GPS: 803 James Street, Chicopee, MA

NOTE: There will be signs and police along the way to assist with traffic.
