CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A two-car accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike caused backups on the westbound side of the highway through the city of Chicopee during the Monday morning commute.
State Trooper Jason Sternfield told 22News that an ambulance was requested by one of the drivers, but everyone involved in the crash is expected to survive.
The right-hand lane was closed at the Connecticut River Bridge, but both travel lanes are now open, as the crash cleared at around 8:45 A.M. At one point, traffic had been slowed prior to Exit 5 (Memorial Drive).
The crash happened in the same general area as a three-car accident on Friday morning.
