HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A railroad bridge known to be a trouble spot for trucks lived up to its reputation again Monday morning.
Holyoke Police Sgt. David O’Connell told 22News that a tractor trailer became stuck underneath the bridge at Lyman and Canal Streets around 9:30 A.M. Photos sent to 22News by David Calver showed damage to the roof of the truck’s trailer.
O’Connell said that by late morning, the truck had been towed away. No citations were issued against the truck’s driver.
The bridge has a clearance of only 11 feet, six inches, while most tractor trailers are between 13 ½ and 14 feet high.
