Two Westfield High School students allegedly assaulted the school Principal

The school's resource officer and other members of the administration came to help

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Superintendent of the Westfield Public Schools says two high school students will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law after allegedly assaulting the school Principal.

Dr. Suzanne Scallion told 22News two girls, ages 16 and 17, tried to attack another student. That’s when Principal Johnathan Carter blocked a doorway that led to their target.

The two girls allegedly turned their attack on the Principal, punching, kicking and biting him. The school’s resource officer and other members of the administration came to help and the girls were arrested.

Superintendent Scallion said they’ve been suspended and could be expelled.
