Military Humvee collides with civilian car on NJ Turnpike

Cause of the crash is unknown

NEW JERSEY (NBC News) – A Humvee traveling in a military convoy collided with a civilian car late Friday night on the New Jersey turnpike.

Six people were sent to the hospital, including four army personnel.

Authorities say the Humvee was part of a 12-vehicle convoy traveling from Fort Drum in New York to joint base Maguire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.

They say one soldier in the Humvee was flown to a hospital in Trenton with serious injuries.

The others were taken to the hospital by ambulance, with no word on the extent of their injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
