(KHQ) James Carney was doing yard work at his Spokane, Washington home Thursday when he came across something unexpected. Underneath a chunk of cement in Carney’s back yard was a gravestone belonging to a World War I veteran named William Myers.
“I thought this is just incredible that I found something like this,” Carney said.
Carney, a former Marine, wasn’t about to leave this soldier behind. So he took the stone to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars office.
