House lost to fire in Becket

The owner was able to salvage some belongings

BECKET, Mass. (WWLP) – A property owner in the Berkshire County town of Becket lost his home to fire Sunday.

Fire departments from five neighboring towns helped Becket firefighters try to save the house on Shore Road. Becket borders the Hampden County towns of Chester and Blandford.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. The owner was able to salvage some of his belongings.

Neighbors saddened by Sunday’s fire told 22News the owner had plans to rent his property as a vacation home for the summer.
