Brush fire burns about an acre of land in Richmond

RICHMOND, Mass. (WWLP) – The threat of brush fires continues Sunday.

About an acre of brush burned in the Berkshire County town of Richmond.

Richmond Fire Chief Stephen Traver told 22News about an acre of grass was scorched in the area of 944 Lenox Road.

It started around 2:30 Sunday afternoon.

The fire was heading toward a pool house, but no buildings were ever damaged.

Richmond is the home of former Governor Deval Patrick, but Chief Traver said the fire was nowhere near his home.
