NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Police say a New Haven teenager has died after he and another person were shot while they were sitting in a parked car on a city avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at 12:10 a.m. Sunday.
Police did not release the name of the 16-year-old boy; he was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the other person as 20-year-old Justin Compress of New Haven. They say he was shot in the shoulder, hand and wrist and was in stable condition.
New Haven police Officer David B. Hartman says the suspect fled from the scene in a dark-colored four-door sedan.
