Scantic Valley YMCA holds annual 5K

The YMCA hoped to raise over $3,000

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The Scantic Valley YMCA attracted dozens of runners Saturday for its annual 5K race.

Close to 100 runners hit the pavement at the Y Family Center in Wilbraham. They raised money for the YMCA youth programs.

Richard Senecal said he was happy to be one of the oldest runners participating. “My wife had gone through the lifespan program with this crew, so when I saw the literature on the 5K, something told me to try to get it, no matter what.”

Through his efforts and those of the other 5K participants, the YMCA hoped to top the $3,000 raised last year.
