Springfield Police need help to identify alleged theft suspect

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in these surveillance photos.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, a Shriner’s Hospital employee had her wallet stolen from her office early on the morning of March 27th.  The wallet contained $25 in cash as well as her credit and debit cards.

Just fifteen minutes later the thief tried to use one of those cards at the “Stop & Shop” at the Liberty Street Plaza.  Springfield Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in these three surveillance pictures.

Detective Gifford Jenkins of the Major Crimes Unit is investigating this theft.  He asks that anyone with information on this case or the suspect in these photos call the Springfield Detective Bureau at (413) 787-6355.
