Oklahoma City bombing: 20 years later

(NBC News) This weekend marks 20 years since the horrific attack on the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

The blast killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.

“We’re still here, a little worse for wear,” survivor Susan Walton says now.

Walton was trapped in the rubble after the blast, one of the more than 680 injured. Triage doctors didn’t expect her to survive.

“She had a basal skull fracture, broken nose, and six fractures along each jaw line, a ruptured spleen, both legs were severely broken from the knees down,” recalls her husband, Richard Walton.

But Susan, like her city, refused to give up or give in.

“It’s been quite a journey, the 20 years,” she says.
