Kitchen fire forced 4 from Springfield apartment

No one was injured in fire at 33 Nursery Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A family of four was forced out of their Springfield home Friday afternoon, due to a fire in the kitchen.

Springfield Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Guyer told 22News that the department received multiple calls about a fire 33 Nursery Street in Liberty Heights shortly after 1:20 P.M. Guyer said that the fire was confined to the kitchen of the two-story apartment, but there was smoke damage on the rest of the first floor and into the second floor.

No one was hurt, but the adult and three children who live there will not be able to return home at this time.
